ZEPHYR1100 Spark plug cooling duct

Today, I’d like to introduce our Spark Plug Cooling Duct for ZEPHYR1100.

This cooling duct is to cool down #3, 4, 5 and 6 plugs which have severe heat environment with ventilation effectively.

It has wider opening compare to standard one, improving cooling efficiency that will reduce load on the engine.

In 2000, we participated in races with ZEPHYR1100 with Broc Parkes and the Spark plug cooling duct was developed. This titanium duct can be installed to the bike without any modification (can be used with standard oil cooler).

MORIWAKI MD600 Press conference part2

Press conference at Motegi Press Conference room.

There were many media people from inside and outside of Japan, giving us questions regarding the revealed proto machine.

MD600 has variable caster angle and swing arm pivot position which were only used in factory race machines.

The new 600 is designed to win the moto2 World Championship, however, we consider it as a tool to train race mechanics.

It is important to foster young riders for the future of the industry but it is also important to foster race mechanics to support those future GP riders.

We wish that MORIWAKI MD series to support many young riders as well as mechanics to train their skills in their professions. In this way that we can return favor to the race industry.

MORIWAKI MD600 Press conference

We have presented MORIWAKI MD600 at MotoGP Press conference.

MD600 is the machine to participate the forthcoming road race class in the MotoGP World Championship.

We continue its development throughout 2009 and prepare to supply the machine to the new championship.

Liquid Gasket ME30

Today, I would like to introduce ME30, a necessary at exhaust system installations.

ME30 is usually contained with MORIWAKI exhaust systems such as ZERO and Monster. ME30 is a liquid gasket we use at pipe joints to prevent any exhaust leaks. Without having such liquid gasket, a pipe joint may cause a secondary air suction resulting after-fire or other problems.

Make sure to put ME30 on your MORIWAKI exhaust system if it is enclosed with the exhaust system you purchased. Be careful not to rev up high right after you installed your MORIWAKI exhaust, otherwise the liquid gasket may come off.

You can also purchase ME30 separately. At your exhaust system maintenance operation, the ME30 can be very handly.

2009 Suzuka 8hrs Endurance Road Race

There was a press conference of this year’s Suzuka 8hrs at Suzuka Circuit last Saturday. After the big renovation, it will be more enjoyable to watch the race.

You can choose different tickets to suit your way of enjoying the summer day.

New camping area is built near the S-corner, and track-side bathing will also be available.

There will be other events outside of the circuit on the 8hrs week.

Suzuka City Chamber of Commerce is organizing bike parade in the city. Hundreds of bikes will parade to the circuit and they will be able to go on the track at the eve night opening event. Tulips

Mr. Moriwaki’s flower bed.

There is always something to look… now he has it filled with tulips. All sorts of tulips are full bloom now.

He often brings them to our office and sure they smell good.

I am not familiar with flower names or types, however, they are good for a change.

A group photo from 2007

The end of 2007, all MORIWAKI members joined and took a group photo just before we ship one lot of MD250. I took this photo from the top of our 4-ton truck. You may have seen it on magazines or our new year’s card.

Usually when we ship a big lot of MD250s to overseas, this is what it looks like. It was a quite job to put all bikes in order for the photo taken.

Suzuka Circuit renovation completed

I went to Suzuka Circuit last Saturday to display our motorcycles at an event. I had a little time to walk over to new PIT area. It was quite surprising how much it has changed. (I couldn’t take any pictures.) Walk passes and PIT areas got bigger and all facilities had improved.

I have been to Suzuka Circuit so many times in the last 20years since I was primary kid and seen their renovation works bits and bits but never this big.

I kind of miss the old Circuit but this new race team area and spectator area are looking really good.

There will be the first race event to cerebrate the new Suzuka Circuit this weekend, “Keihin Suzuka 2&4 Race Opening Special” including the 2^nd round of Japan Superbike Championship. You can watch motorcycle and car races at same day. Car race is good, but you got to see the action in the motorcycle races. Come to Suzuka and enjoy the race.

RIDE#23 has been released.

This is the last issue with “Moriwaki Circuit-no-Kiseki” or “Moriwaki’s footsteps on race circuit”, published by SANKAIDO PUBLISHING.

The story ends in 1986, however, MORIWAKI is still challenging the world more than 20yrs after the book was published.

Annual Suzuka 8hrs Endurance Road Race, MotoGP challenge between 2003 to 2005, and recently providing the 250cc GP-MONO race machine “MD250” to many region of the world. MORIWAKI continues challenging the world vigorously.

Race complete machine

One of our customers came to pick up 09CBR600RR MORIWAKI spec complete racer last weekend.

Former MORIWAKI member, Takahashi-san came all the way from Iwate, where he is now opened his own bike shop.

He was the one of MORIWAKI MotoGP challenge members, worked on the MD211VF as a mechanic.

If you are living around Iwate, wanting to start racing or just needing a good shop to take care of your bikes, Takahashi-san is the right one. He is also familiar with MD250H.

Suzuka Circuit is having “START SUZUKA” Opening thanks day F1 kickoff party on April 12, this Sunday.

Our MORIWAKI JSB1000 CBR Fireblade will be displayed at GP Square

among other Suzuka City Motor Sports Organization exhibits. Please stop by.

Coca Cola vending machine

There is a Coca Cola vending machine in MORIWAKI. It’s a Suzuka 8hrs special paint one.

There are 30 of them around but you have to come to Suzuka to find them.

The Honda CBR1000RR you see on the side of the vending machine has MORIWAKI ZERO EXHAUST SYSTEM and BACK STEP KIT. Have you noticed? Check it out next time you are around!

MORIWAKI FISHING CHAMPIONSHIP

MORIWAKI FISHING CHAMPIONSHIP was held last weekend at Suzuka offshore. Warm spring breeze brought beautiful weather… but that didn’t make any difference for fishing.

The water temperature was quite low and all contenders were having trouble getting a big bite.

But there is always the person who gets the biggest fish, who’s not even a contender in the championship… Mr. Moriwaki.

After the commendation ceremony, all the fish were turned into a big hot pot Miso-soup and Fried fish. Bon appétit!

Next round of the Championship will be in May.

All Japan Road Race Championship, Tsukuba round GP-MONO class

All Japan Road Race Championship 2009 season had started last Sunday at Tsukuba Circuit.

Yoshiharu Okada was the leading MD250 among 7 MD250s in the series.

Okada started from the 11^th grid, moved his position up to 7^th at lap 6. He got 5^th at lap 12 and passed Fujii at second last lap and finished in 4^th, missed the podium by 3 sec.

We will post some photos from the event some time soon.

The 2^nd round of All Japan Road Race Championship will go “Brand New” Suzuka Circuit. It had just finished the big renovation since last year. The round, Keihin Suzuka 2&4 Opening Special is combined event with SUPER GT car race on April 18 – 19. Only Japan Super Bike class is scheduled during the event. The next GP-MONO class will be in May.

The season is just about starting

All Japan Championship Road Race 2009 season starts this weekend. The first round is going to be at Tsukuba Circuit where we have 7 “MD250s” entering the GP-MONO class.

It will be nice to see the MD250 dominates all podiums in this weekend.

Almost ready

The proto parts of ZEPHYR1100 Point cover and Generator cover were produced. We were checking their dimensions on the bike.

The actual parts will be painted in black.
