Customer’s voice / Skid Pads

We received a message from a customer who crashed his bike. But the MORIWAKI Skid Pads helped to avoid getting severe damages on the bike.

Here is the message from the customer:

---------------------------------------

090526_3

I put the skid pads on my bike. My friend also recommended and I have no anxiety about the performance which was already approved in racing, however, I’ve never expected to prove the performance of the skid pads by myself.

I went to a touring, winding road to a mountain pass. I was having a really fun but went a little too far. Slipped-down.

My heavy XJR1300 slid a long time. Fortunately, it stopped before hitting anything.

I ran to the bike and pulled it up. There were no major damages on the engine case or chassis. No scratches on the fuel tank. Just minor scratches on handle bars and levers but a half of the skid pads was gone.

Pulsar cover bolt was also ground off a bit but I had no trouble riding home. If I didn’t have the skid pads, I’m sure I had a sorry fuel tank and engine.

I want to thank MORIWAKI for creating such parts. Of course, I will put a new set on my XJR again… no more experiment on the street. [XJR1300 from Shizuoka]

MORIWAKI Cup tenpins bowling

1_3 2_4 3_3 4_3

Mrs. Namiko Moriwaki organized a bowling competition last weekend at Suzuka Circuit.

About 30 people from MORIWAKI and our affiliated companies joined the event.

Mrs. Moriwaki loves tenpins. She has own ball and a pair of shoes too.

Her ball curves incredibly and she is very, very good player.

Somebody brought her a t-shirt (says “Bowling Sprit”) this time.

------

We had dinner after the game. Mrs. Moriwaki was giving presents to those with good scores.

She is planning another 2 events this year… I have to practice now.

MD250 production is running, each part is getting ready to be assembled.

Thanks to those who ordered our MD250.

-----

We brought MD250H to the sport to foster young riders and to broaden the base of future motorsports population. Now, a few countries opened championship races of MD250H. It is powered by Honda CRF250X engine with starter motor. There is no compromise in its engineering and the development is continued to further improve the chassis.

Check with your local dealers and find out more about our MD250.

Bike commuter

090520

It is getting warmer and now I see many riders especially on weekends going their touring.

Are you enjoying the motorcycle life?

Some of our members changed their commuting style from car to motorcycle. I myself also wanted to come with my motorcycle but the battery was flat. I guess I left the bike too long without riding. I should get the battery fixed and ride the bike before it gets too hot.

Our MD250 series isn’t just to race. It will be a good tool to enjoy sports riding on track days.

MORIWAKI would like to provide such an opportunity to everyone to join the sport.

MORIWAKI MD600 Shakedown at Suzuka Circuit South Course

0905151_3_2  0905152

We shook down the MORIWAKI MD600 proto#3 at Suzuka Circuit South Course on May 15. We took the beautiful spring day and brought the aluminum frame 3rd proto machine which we presented at 2009 MotoGP POLINI Grand Prix of Japan to the circuit.

We mainly tested functionality of each part of the chassis, and confirmed the reliability and potential of the machine. Shogo Moriwaki, the development rider of MD600 project rode passionately.

It was our 3rd proto shakedown and we could confirm that our development is moving in right direction.

Taking what we learned from the shakedown, we will improve the chassis further. Please look for MORIWAKI’s future development.

Mr. Kuniaki Shimizu

A television program “Torigoe Shuntaro’s Iryo-no-genba, or medical world” was taking a film at Suzuka Circuit. Featuring Mr. Kuniaki Shimizu.

0905121_2 0905122_2 0905123 0905124

Mr. Shimizu just got his duodenal cancer out in April. Now, he is recovered, being able to ride again. BS-Asahi is making a documentary, following Mr. Shimizu and taking footages of his recovery.

Mr. Shimizu was ex-MORIWAKI Club member and he is a very good friend of Mr. Moriwaki. They go fishing together every now and then. So we were giving a little help there at the circuit.

The program will be on air from May 23, 30 and June 20.

Check it out.

MORIWAKI SHOPPING BAG

Did you know the MORIWAKI SHOPPING BAG?

------------------------------------------------

You usually get those white plastic bags at supermarkets or convenience stores when you buy something. According to POF and Plastic Waste Management Institute that we use about 30 billion such plastic bags annually in Japan. This is equivalent of 560,000K liters of crude oil (2 large tanker ships). And 30% of those plastic bags are wasted after being used once. So, if every Japanese refuses to use the plastic bag once a week, it will save about 4 billion bags a year.

Now, I would like to introduce our MORIWAKI SHOPPING BAG.

It has large handles to put your arm through so you can use it as a shoulder bag to carry fairly heavy stuff. It made out of Polyester taffeta, a light and strong material. You can carry your helmet with it (showing a size “L” helmet in the bag). That bag comes with a small carrying case.

Refusing the plastic bags at stores, turn your air conditioner down a little, save water and electricity… each are small things but it can be a big thing if everyone joins together. It will make difference in the green house gas reduction. We are presenting our idea to start something…

International German Championship (IDM)

We got a report and some photos from PCP Racing Junior Team who is participating in the IDM125 with MD250H. We heard that the IDM is very competitive race series and there are many riders like Mika Kallio, Tom Luethi, Randy Krummenacher, Stefan Bradl and Sandro Cortese who made into world class championships from the IDM125.

PCP Racing stated that their objective of participating in the series is not to be competitive to win but to train their rider in the competitive environment and enjoy races. They also consider participating in Supersport class in the future when the rider is ready.

We also learned that the IDM scheduled 8 races this year. They have more than 20,000 spectators at every race and races are broadcasted on tv.

Our MORIWAKI MD250 is given an opportunity to play its role in such a competitive race series.

OKAYAMA West Challenge Cup

How did you spend your Golden Week?

I went to see OKAYAMA West Challenge Cup at Okayama International Circuit last Sunday. Shota Fujishima, one of Moriwaki Club members was there for his first appearance at the circuit.

------------------

Result… he qualified 7th in the grid and got 6th at the race despite the trouble he had on his brake. He was not happy with the result at all but he’s got something nourishing for his next challenge.

------------------

I hope to see him on the podium in the near future.
