MONSTER ENERGY GRAND PRIX DE FRANCE / Qualifying

The qualifying session had just finished.  The mercury rose to 29C and the track temperature was 45C with dry condition.

Toni Elias, who was on the top of the time-sheet earlier today at FP-2 session crashed right after the qualifying started.  It was the last corner of Le Mans and the unfortunate also got another MD600 rider, Lukas Pesek at the same spot as Elias.  But both were able to go back on the track, thanks to prompt works of their team staffs.

Yamaguchi and Fujishima going to Autopolis for the 3rd round of All Japan Championship

Round 3 of All Japan Championship is on May 23 at Autopolis in Kyushu.

Tatsuya Yamaguchi and Shota Fujishima from MORIWAKI Club will appear at the event.  Yamaguchi is entering both ST600 and J-GP2.

We already have seen Yamaguchi going faster than the course record at last week test held at the circuit.  And his teammate, Fujishima had a podium finish in April at the very circuit, he was also the one marking the course record at the race.  Both are in very good shape.  We might see MORIWAKI sensation this weekend in Kyushu…?

MotoGP posted Mamoru Moriwaki (MORIWAKI ENGINEERING CEO)’s comment on their website

Mamorumoriwaki

Referring to the great success at Spain GP a couple of weeks ago, Mr. Moriwaki had made an official comment and it is introduced at MotoGP official website (Japanese).

MORIWAKI original Moto2 machine, MD600 onboard Toni Elian won the round2 of MotoGP Moto2 class and Thomas Luthi was also the one to be on podium at the race.  Mr. Moriwaki expresses how he was impressed by the great achievement and his gratitude to Dorna Sports, FIM and IRTA.

-------------------------

English translation:

Mamoru Moriwaki (CEO)

It is difficult to express my feeling with words.  The victory at Jerez GP was a great pleasure to me.

This is very competitive class with many prominent constructors from all around the world.  And I was overwhelmed when Toni Elias, Gresini team took pole position despite his injury, and Thomas Luthi, Interwetten Moriwaki team finished in 7th at the race even though he had limited amount of riding before the race, and all other MD600 riders made their great results at the opening round.

And now, it is only the second round and Toni Elias won the GP race and Thomas Luthi came in 3rd at the same race.  We could not imagine any better result than this.  We are very impressed and all MORIWAKI members who worked so hard in Japan shared the deep emotion.

The championship only started and we have to concentrate on every race, however, I am greatly delighted that we were able to provide our machines to the competition.

I would like to express my gratitude to Dorna Sports, FIM, IRTA and other concerned parties and members who gave their effort to establish this class, and to teams and riders who chose our MD600.

We will continue our research and development to be able to provide more competitive machines to the class as the championship continues.

I am very proud that, as a compilation of my last 36years of experience, we are able to have an opportunity to prove our acquired engineering skills at world championship class, and our MD600 is raced by number of great riders.

URGPRU race report

New report from USGPRU which tells about another great competitive race in MD250H spec race.

Excerpt:

-------------------------------------------------------

Long, Mesa (Rev’it! Moriwaki MD250H Powered by HONDA) and Lewis’s Wins in NJ are Nothing to Sneeze at!

Millville, NJ. - May 2, 2010 - The Rev’it! sponsored Moriwaki MD250H Powered by HONDA race started right behind the 250GP event.  Due to the grid size and difference in bike speeds, the race director decided to go with a single flag, single wave start.  Eventual winner Stefano Meza was the only one that noticed this on the grid sheet, and took off as the other racers waited for a second before realizing what was going on.  Max Flinders and Nick McFadden stayed close to each other at the first part of the race until they caught up with some of the 250's and developed a gap between each other with McFadden eventually finishing second ahead of Flinders.   Amazingly, Stefano Mesa finished the race not only winning his race, but actually would have finished in 7th in the 250GP race!  That’s some testament to his riding and the racing competence of his Moriwaki race bike.
