2011 MotoGP World Championship Series round9, eni Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland / Race report

Dry weather finally came to the world championship series in Germany.  4 MD600s were participating the round, 2 from Gresini Racing Moto2 and another 2 from QMMF Racing Team.

It was Takahashi who showcased superb riding in free practice sessions, started from 7th in FP1, moved to 3rd in FP2 and topped the timesheet in FP3 on Saturday, ready to take pole in the qualifying practice.
But he wasn’t lucky.  6 laps after he started his qualifying practice, a rider in front of him slowed down rather suddenly and Takahashi crashed his bike while trying to avoid a collision.
His team made every effort to bring the bike on track.  He returned for the last 5min but crashed again.  He had to start from grid 13.
His teammate, Pirro got 4th in the grid, despite the ankle injury from last race.  He was going to start from 2nd row, ahead of other 3 MD600s.
Cardus and Al Naimi from QMMF finished the qualifying practice in 24th and 38th respectively.
24 riders in top 1sec, another close race was expected.

The race started in dry, 23 degree air and 30 degree ground.  There was a multiple crash at the first corner in the starting chaos and Cardus was forced to go out the track, unfortunately.  Pirro completed the lap1 in 6th, followed by Takahashi 11th, Al Naimi 31st and Cardus 36th.
5 riders led the race and Pirro and Takahashi battled in the second pack.  Both went up to single digit position but something happened on Takahashi’s bike and he pulled over.  It could be a problem from the crash day before, however, he retired the race at 6laps remaining.
Pirro continued his fight and got 10th, receiving 6 championship point.
Cardus finished in 28th and Al Naimi in 30th.

2011 MotoGP World Championship Series Round 8, Gran Premio d'Italia TIM/Race Report

The first day was dry all day, but the rain hits in the afternoon for qualifying on Saturday.It started raining during MotoGP qualifying session, and that made it difficult for Moto2 class riders.As the time goes, the rain gets lighter and most riders scored the best lap time at their last raps.

The fastest Moriwaki MD600 rider in the qualifying was Yuki TAKAHASHI taking the 15th spot on the starting grid.Other MD600 riders: Ricardo CARDUS/17th, Michele PIRRO/21st, Carmelo MORALES/27th, Mashel AL NAIMI/37th

The race day was finally in sunny dry condition with the air temperature 27 degree C and the track temperature 42 degree C.
The race started at 12:17 local time in Mugello.All the MD600 riders went through turn1, and completed the first lap with CARDUS /18th, PIRRO/20th, TAKAHASHI 27th, MORALES/30th, and AL NAIMI 37th.
However, PIRRO crashed at lap 4 and could not complete the race.The race was lead by top 4 riders from the early stage, followed by a big group fighting for the 5th position.At the end, TAKAHASHI gained some positions and finished 14th earning 2 championship points.Other MD600 Riders: CARDUS/22nd, MORALES/25th, AL NAIMI/31st, and PIRRO/DNF
